Animation

Goku animation:

I started this session off by selecting a goku strip i could later turn into an animation. It was very simple to turn into an animation, it was already in a preset animation, however, it was jumping across the screen which i did not want as i wanted goku to stay on the spot whilst bouncing up and down with a speed of '10' to make it look like a fighting stance. The only thing i really had to do was highlight goku, move him to the bottom left of the screen so that he wasn't choppy and repeated the process for all the characters i used, which only took a few minutes or so.

When i felt confident, i decided on animating Goku's 'punching' animation. I again repeated the process of moving Goku to the bottom left corner to assure that even if he does move, it is a very small movement and that the animation isn't choppy.

In total, i created 14 animations of Goku, doing different things such as: jumping, punching, kicking, running etc. I've learnt that animating is vital for games as it allows your character to do certain activities. Games like pacman and breakout doesn't need animations as they are very basic games but in modern society the animations in games play a critical part for it to succeed as a high-end title.

Claudius Animation:

These are simple Claudius strips that can be easily be turned into animations. The animations are very basic too as it just allows the person who is new to animating to understand the concept of it. I started off with this Claudius strip to get used to animating as it just shows how simple it can be to implement walking in different directions into a game. Once i finished with the Claudius strip i went onto the Goku strip which itself was also very basic but included some quite difficult animations i had to work around to make it so Goku would move around the screen but stay in one position whilst performing the certain animation.
